I got tired of explaining Etherscan to friends, so I built an explorer that just says what happened

Hi r/ethereum,

Every time a friend sends me an Etherscan link and asks "what did I just do?", I end up explaining internal txns, token transfers, method IDs and why there's WETH in there. Etherscan is great if you know what you're looking at. For everyone else it's a wall of hex.

So I built Simplorer. You open a transaction or an address and it tells you in one sentence what happened. Same swap, two views:

Simplorer says "0xc850…87b7 swapped 0.72 ETH for 1,378.06 USDT on Relay". Below that you see who sent and got what (part of it went through Uniswap) and the fee in ETH and dollars.

A few things it does:

- names the apps people actually use, a few hundred of them (Uniswap, Aave, Lido, 1inch, Curve, Pendle, OpenSea...)

- approvals in plain words, like "allowed Uniswap to move any amount of its USDC", with a note on what that means and how to take it back

- Safes and smart accounts show up as the account that acted, not as some contract call

- bridges show where the coins went on the other side (Across, Stargate, LayerZero, CCTP)

- fake tokens copying a real ticker and address poisoning transfers get a warning

Most transactions from normal wallets come out as one clean sentence. If it can't name something it says "an app we don't know yet" instead of guessing. Data comes from Blockscout and a public node. No account, no ads.

It's still in beta and I'm sure some transactions read weird. If you find one, send it to me. That's honestly the most useful feedback I can get.
