What's the safest way to hold Ethereum for a complete idiot - exchange staking, staking pool or just hold on a hardware wallet?

I'm looking to sell some of my ETH, and it's split pretty evenly between these. Should I focus on getting rid of one other the others, or should I just sell them all evenly? My concern about the staking pool is that I'm self-hosting, and honestly I don't even know how to get everything out. I know this is dumb, but I'm a long term holder who just needs a bit of cash right now. Thank you
