Is it stupid to tell my bank what btc I own, to try and get a loan?

I want to ask my bank how much I could loan maximally, to potentially buy a house. Currently I rent a decent place, but how long I can stay is unclear.

Early 30s, been renting my whole life.

The majority of my wealth is in bitcoin. I don’t have enough to buy a house directly, I’d need to 10x at least (in my area).

I’m self employed, which lowers chances of a loan, says all banks (more risk apparently, even though I have at least one steady long-term customer).

PROBLEM: I don’t want to be blocked from sending fiat to exchanges.

I have previously asked a bank I used about their bitcoin policy, and they were anti btc and stopped my ability to send money to exchanges immediately.

So I switched bank to the one I use now. Have never asked them about bitcoin and I can transfer seamlessly.

It’s complicated to switch banks only to pray that they overlook transfers to exchanges. I’m in a strict EU country.

I REALLY DON’T WANT to lose this ability to transfer to an exchange. My (small) company buys btc too, so I need this kinda official route. I don’t think bisq etc would be legal (or?). And maybe that could be blocked from transfers too..

QUESTION: Is it stupid to go to my new bank (one year as a customer), set up a meeting and tell them what I own?

The more I own, the bigger the chance of a loan, as far as I can tell. Makes me less of a risk.

I really want to get into the housing market, diversify my portfolio that way. Currently I’m pretty much all in btc.

The time has come where being all in to one asset (even one as good as btc) begins to feel scary. I don’t want all my eggs in one basket.

I see no other good solutions than the housing market. Maybe gold, but that seems complicated. It’s been years thinking about how to get into the housing market.

What are your thoughts?

I’m leaning to NOT set up a meeting with my bank. Maybe find other ways to diversify.

Thank you all for sharing thoughts with me. I’m NOT going to let them know.

Maybe I’ll set up some kind of investment account to satisfy my diversification needs, I’m just not really interested in any stocks.

Perhaps just keep saving up, some btc, some fiat.

All eggs in one basket = still scary though.
