Having problems finding my bitcoin balance after switching wallets

Hi, I am pretty new to bitcoin, but for a couple of years now I had a wallet called “Wallet Well” by BitCoinWell on my iPhones. I was using it without issues - putting in money into bitcoin ATM’s and paying vendors in bitcoins from my wallet. I started out on that app because my first Bitcoin ATM said - if you don’t have a prior bitcoin wallet - use this app.

Recently, Wallet Well stopped working, and/or they discontinued it. Even bonfire, I was looking for better apps- I knew other apps can allow you to change exchanges- to lower the fees. A guy on YouTube recommended Exodus.

So today I download it, typed in my 16 word wallet password, and “restored” my wallet. It took my password- and the import looks good — but I don’t see my old balance there! Exodus seems so have all these exchanges ( and currencies other than the original bitcoin) - but even when I search for exchanges “ where I have a balance” - it comes up with nothing. I only see 0.0 everywhere for my balance. Does this mean I last had 0.0 bitcoin in my account ? When I last checked my account, I am pretty sure I had something like $18 USD in bitcoin in there, or some small amount , but not zero.

Not sure what to do next — am I doing something wrong in Exodus ? Should I try another Wallet app instead- is there one we know it uses the same exchange that Wallet Well used ? Is there a way to look at my “bank balance” or transaction history on the blockchain - to find out if I had any money left ?
