Fun Fact Sunday: 12 years ago, you could win 25 BTC in a StarCraft tournament

On April 23rd, 2011 at 19:00CET, the finals of a StarCraft II tournament took place with a prize pool of (then) $1000. Today, thanks to inflation, you'd need $1356.

What wasn't included in this number: 4 x 25 Bitcoin, now worth almost $3,000,000 USD (at the time, 25 BTC were worth $35).

All you had to do was not be among the top 4. You heard me right, price for place 1 to 4 was about $100-$500:

We don't know if some of them kept the bitcoin - or maybe some of them didn't even take it? I would really like to know how these guys feel about this in retrospect.

If you ever feel bad about missing out, don't. 99.99% of us would have sold early - and that would sting even more!
