TLDR; back in the day (sub $100 BTC days), Bitcoin.de hosted a promotion where they would send 0.01 to any new account that verified their information. They ghosted me and locked me out of my account when I went to claim it years later. It was 2018 or so when I rediscovered the account. I logged in all fine and dandy... but I had changed my phone number in the interim period, and as it was used to secure my account for 2FA, I needed to go through support to have it reset (they had no automated mechanism). I was fully expecting to have to verify my identity... but they ghosted me. Shortly after the second e-mail I sent (that received no reply), I was mysteriously locked out my account.
After literally years, and many e-mails, I have never gotten a response.
Which Lederhosen-clad ???? came up with that promotion anyhow?
