We've seen a spike in fees right after the halving due to spammers competing for blockspace to write otherwise useless data to the chain. If you exchange your hard-earned money for these "collectibles" then at the end you have fewer sats and essentially a stamp. If you kept your sats then you could use them however you want including making your own stamps. These scams are just a way to separate you from your hard earned bitcoin.
