I am in the process of setting up cold storage (set up, store safely, forget). In relation to that, I came to think about a possible risk for long term holding and storage of btc in L1 wallets (10+ years). Is it possible that btc L1 fees for transactions can become so high in the future that L1 wallet holders of smaller amounts of btc can get fucked over (think of a future with mass adoption where majority of transactions take place on L2s)?
